Job summary

Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd is seeking experienced machine operators to join the recycling centre team in Gloucester. We welcome candidates with hands-on experience on 360 excavators and telehandlers who can assist in loading, sorting and processing waste safely and efficiently.

Training can be provided for the right candidate, and we offer life assurance, on-site parking, gym discounts, annual pay reviews and clear progression opportunities within our family-run business.

• Experience on 360 excavators and telehandlers preferred.

• Experience in recycling or waste management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Loading/unloading HGVs with telehandler
• Operating 360 excavator to handle, sort and process waste
• Use of telehandler to empty skips
• Sweeping yard
• Fuelling machines
• Loading containers with teletruck
• Moving baled waste
• Load conveyor belt and waste process hopper with 360 excavator
• Ensure a steady supply of material to shears, shredders and balers using machine

We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.

We are recruiting for machine operators to join the team at our recycling centre in Gloucester. We are looking for experienced operators to join our team ideally with experience on both 360 excavators and telehandlers. Experienced plant operator preferred but not essential as training can be given to the right candidate.

Responsibilities for the job role:

• Loading/unloading HGVs with telehandler
• Operating 360 excavator to handle, sort and process waste
• Use of telehandler to empty skips
• Sweeping yard
• Fuelling machines
• Loading containers with teletruck
• Moving baled waste
• Load conveyor belt and waste process hopper with 360 excavator
• Ensure a steady supply of material to shears, shredders and balers using machine
