Job summary

Biffa Group is seeking a Mobile Plant Operator in Cardiff. The role offers a £31,379 per annum salary and a Monday to Friday pattern from 06:30 to 16:00. You will operate forklifts, loader, and excavators to unload and load vehicles, stockpile materials, and support the process plant while maintaining site housekeeping.

Responsibilities include daily plant maintenance, inspections, and coordinating with hauliers. A strong focus on safety and efficient site operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Operation of Fork Lift Trucks.
• Front End Loader shovel operation.
• 360 Excavator tracked and wheeled operation.
• Mobile Grab handling.

Responsibilities

• Unload and load vehicles, stockpile materials, feed the process plant, store finished products, load outgoing vehicles.
• Carry out daily maintenance and record keeping for mobile plant and plant equipment.
• Carry out housekeeping activities in all areas of the site.
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under direction of Supervisor and Ops Manager.
• Carry out daily operations on site as directed by site management.
• Carry our regular inspections of site infrastructure.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic in internal areas.
• Liaise with BWS and external hauliers for timely dispatch of materials.

Your core responsibilities

• Operation of Fork Lift Trucks, Front end Bucket loader and 360 excavators to unload and load vehicles, stockpile materials, feed the process plant, store finished products, load outgoing vehicles; carry out housekeeping and maintenance activities and any other tasks required.
• Carry out daily maintenance and record keeping for mobile plant and plant equipment.
• Carry out housekeeping activities in all areas of the site.
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under the direction of Supervisor and Ops Manager.
• Carry out daily operations on site as directed by site management.
• Carry our regular inspections of site infrastructure.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic in all internal areas.
• Liaise with BWS and external hauliers to ensure timely dispatch of materials from site.
