Job summary

Biffa Group is seeking a Mobile Plant Operator to operate and move recyclable materials and to perform daily checks on equipment. You will also complete mileage and service reports and help maintain a clean, safe work environment.

The role is 48 hours per week with alternating early and late shifts, including weekends. Essential licenses for telehandler, loading shovel, and 360 grab are required, with safety and reliability driving performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment checks
• Complete daily report forms for all equipment used, including mileage and service records
• Operate with diligence and safety ensuring Health and Safety parameters are strictly adhered to
• Provide a control of the waste directly at the point of unloading
• Is responsible for the cleaning of the working area in and out of cab
• Is responsible to inform the shift leader about all accidents unsuitable waste, etc

Job description

Help us make a difference as a Mobile Plant Operator.

- Week 1 - Early Shift

• Monday-Friday: 06:00-15:30
• Saturday: 06:00-12:00

- Week 2 - Late Shift

• Monday-Friday: 11:30-20:00
• Saturday: Off

Breaks: 30 minutes unpaid daily.

Hours: 48 hours per week, alternating weekly between early and late shifts.

Salary: £35,817

Our essential requirements.

• Essential: License for telehandler, loading shovel and 360 grab also an advantage
• Experience operating mobile plant or machinery.
• Recycling, waste management, or industrial experience preferred.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness, reliability, and a proactive attitude.
