Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is seeking a Mobile Plant Operator for their Cardiff site. The role runs Monday to Friday, 06:30-16:00, with a salary of £31,379 per annum.

You will operate forklift trucks, loaders and excavators to unload/load vehicles, stockpile materials and feed the process plant, while keeping accurate maintenance records and ensuring site housekeeping is maintained to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Fork Lift Trucks.
• Experience operating Front End Loader shovel.
• Experience operating 360 Excavators (tracked or wheeled).
• Experience with mobile plant and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate Fork Lift Trucks, Front End Loader and 360 excavators to unload and load vehicles, stockpile materials and feed the process plant.
• Carry out daily maintenance and keep records for mobile plant and equipment.
• Carry out housekeeping across all areas of the site.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under direction.
• Run daily site operations as directed by site management.
• Carry out regular inspections of site infrastructure and control traffic within internal areas.

Mobile Plant Operator - Cardiff

£31,379 per annum

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - 06:30-16:00

Your core responsibilities

• Operation of Fork Lift Trucks, Front end Bucket loader and 360 excavators to unload and load vehicles, stockpile materials, feed the process plant, store finished products, load outgoing vehicles; carry out housekeeping and maintenance activities and any other tasks required.
• Carry out daily maintenance and record keeping for mobile plant and plant equipment.
• Carry out housekeeping activities in all areas of the site.
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under the direction of Supervisor and Ops Manager.
• Carry out daily operations on site as directed by site management.
• Carry our regular inspections of site infrastructure.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic in all internal areas.
• Liaise with BWS and external hauliers to ensure timely dispatch of materials from site.
