Perfect Placement UK Ltd is pleased to present a Mobile Plant Engineer opportunity with a respected provider of maintenance and repair services for utility vehicles and equipment. The role offers a salary of £41,000 to £45,000 per annum and excellent career prospects.

You will service and repair at customer sites, diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults, and complete detailed reports. A valid UK driving licence and your own hand tools are essential, with on-site work across client locations.

Qualifications

• Qualified to IMI, City & Guilds, or equivalent Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Own hand tools and ability to work independently at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on utility vehicles at customer sites.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, including PTO systems, hydraulic power packs, tail lifts, vehicle-mounted cranes, and winches.
• Conducting vehicle safety and compliance checks.
• Responding promptly to breakdowns and urgent repair requests.
• Completing detailed job reports via tablet, including photographs, hours worked, and parts used.
• Communicating effectively with the service team to coordinate repairs.
• Working independently at customer locations, adhering to safety standards.

Duties as the Mobile Plant Engineer:

• Full UK driving licence

• Comfortable working independently at various customer sites
• Experience with PTO systems, tail lifts, hydraulics, or mobile roadside repairs is advantageous but not essential
• Suitable for ex-forces personnel or Mobile Plant Engineers seeking a career change with relevant mechanical skills

Working hours are 45 per week, Monday to Friday, with paid meal breaks. Typical shifts start between 7:00 and 8:00 am.
