Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd on behalf of our client is recruiting a Mobile Plant Engineer to join their team in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled plant or HGV mechanic seeking a mobile role with varied, hands-on work and potential for career development.

The Mobile Plant Engineer will service, repair and refurbish plant equipment, diagnose hydraulic, mechanical and electrical faults, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• Experience as an HGV or vehicle technician.
• Proactive and customer-focused approach with a commitment to excellence.
• Own comprehensive toolset; tools issued by company.
• Full UK Driving Licence; HGV Technician experience is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect, repair and refurbish plant equipment and attachments.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical faults.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance.
• Follow environmental, health and safety procedures.

The Mobile Plant Engineer will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and delivering high-quality service with efficiency and professionalism.

Duties:

• Service, inspect, repair, and refurbish plant equipment and attachments such as dumpers, diggers, telehandlers, trailers, pallet trucks, and pumps
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical faults
• Respond to breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance
• Follow environmental, health, and safety procedures
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and quality standards

Requirements for the Mobile Plant Engineer position are:

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification
