Job summary

Dawsongroup EMC is seeking an experienced Mobile HGV Engineer/Field Service Engineer to own and deliver high-quality repairs in the field. You will diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and manage electronic records while coordinating with the service desk and colleagues.

The role requires hands-on engineering experience with plant or HGV assets, and a willingness to expand product knowledge. A Class 2 HGV licence is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised Plant or HGV Technician qualification, with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience working with diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Practical electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Confidence using plant or fleet diagnostic equipment and communicating effectively with colleagues and customers.
• A Class 2 HGV licence would be desirable, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across a varied fleet of specialist equipment.
• Carry out planned maintenance, PMI inspections and both minor and major repairs.
• Work safely at all times, following SHEQ procedures and completing risk assessments.
• Complete accurate electronic job records using a PDA and keep reports up to date.
• Manage your own workload and vehicle stock while coordinating with colleagues and the service desk.
