Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a Mobile Plant Fitter to service and maintain excavators, dozers, telehandlers and other heavy equipment across customer sites in and around the Midlands region.

The role is field-based with access to Midlands depots; requires a valid licence and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Training for GPS and safety systems provided.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining plant or construction equipment with mechanical/hydraulic knowledge.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant or Machinery Maintenance or CSCS card required.
• Full driving licence and right to work in the UK needed.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain excavators, dump trucks, dozers, telehandlers and related equipment.
• Perform routine servicing, fluid checks and replace parts as needed.
• Inspect equipment, report faults and prepare machinery for redeployment.

Mobile Plant Fitter

Location: Bicester, Northampton, Cambridge, Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas

Pay: £15.50-£18.00 per hour

Hours: 42.5 hours per week, with overtime paid at time and a half thereafter

We're working with a national plant hire business looking for a Mobile Plant Fitter to join its growing major projects team, maintaining construction and earthmoving equipment across customer sites.

This is a field-based role, with access to the Midlands depot in CV37 when required.

The Role

• Service and maintain excavators, articulated dump trucks, dozers, telehandlers, compaction and agricultural equipment.
• Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, fluid checks and replacement of parts and consumables.
• Inspect equipment, report faults and prepare machinery for redeployment.
• Support larger maintenance and repair tasks alongside the wider team.
• Assist with installing GPS and machine safety systems, with product training provided.

Requirements

• Experience maintaining plant or construction equipment, with strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant or Machinery Maintenance, or a valid CSCS card.
• Full driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
• Understanding of risk assessments and method statements.
• Organised, proactive and comfortable working independently and within a team.
