Job summary

Northern Security Ltd is seeking a Mobile Patrol Team Leader at its Head Office in Carlisle to supervise mobile patrols across the assigned area. You will lead patrol officers, respond to alarms, complete incident reports, and ensure compliance with company policies and client requirements.

This role offers a flexible shift pattern, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays, plus on-call duties. A valid SIA licence, full UK driving licence, and strong communication skills are

Job Title: Mobile Patrol Team Leader

Location: Head Office in Carlisle. Various patrol locations within the assigned operational area.

Salary: £14.25ph

Reports to: Head of Operations

Working Hours: Flexible shift pattern including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Participation in an on-call rota may be required.

The Mobile Patrol Team Leader is responsible for supervising and supporting mobile patrol officers, ensuring the delivery of professional security services, and maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and operational performance. The role involves conducting patrols, responding to alarms, managing incidents, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Duties

• Lead and supervise a team of Mobile Patrol Officers.
• Conduct mobile security patrols of client premises and sites.
• Respond promptly to alarm activations, emergency call-outs, and incidents.
• Carry out security inspections, lock/unlock services, and welfare checks.
• Ensure all patrols are completed according to client requirements and company procedures.
• Monitor patrol schedules and ensure efficient route planning.

Team Leadership

• Provide guidance, training, and support to patrol officers.
• Conduct regular site visits and performance assessments.
• Ensure officers maintain professional standards of appearance and conduct.
• Assist with staff induction, coaching, and ongoing development.
• Manage and report staff performance, attendance, and disciplinary matters when required.

Incident Management

• Take control of security incidents and emergency situations.
• Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records.
• Liaise with emergency services, clients, and management as required.
• Investigate security breaches and recommend corrective actions.

Compliance & Health and Safety

• Ensure compliance with company policies, site instructions, and industry regulations.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture within the team.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure company vehicles are maintained and roadworthy.
• Ensure all patrol officers hold and maintain required licences and certifications.
• Maintain effective key control, ensuring keys are issued, returned, and recorded accurately.

Customer Service

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Address client concerns and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and identify opportunities for service improvement.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

• Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence.
• Full UK Driving Licence with a clean driving record.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
• Good knowledge of incident response.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience of working with digital systems for data entry and record keeping.
