Job description

An opportunity has become available to join the UK's largest independent Smart Repair Company as a Mobile Paint / SMART Repair Technician. You will be covering work generated from our dealership customers based in and around Crawley and the Surrey/Sussex Borders. You will be provided with a fully stocked vehicle and all necessary tools and equipment to carry out the SMART repairs required by our customers.

You will not be joining a franchise!

If you are a skilled Paint Repair or Bodyshop Paint Repair Technician, this could be the perfect opportunity to build upon your existing experience and work for a company with a strong infrastructure and a history of structured training and employee development.

Candidate Requirements

1. Prior experience as a Paint Technician and/or Paint/Bodyshop Technician, preferably with mobile experience.
2. Ability to work in a busy and demanding environment on a mobile basis.
3. Hardworking, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
4. Ability to maintain high standards of workmanship.
5. Experience in prepping, paint spraying, minor dent repairs, and vehicle cosmetic smart repair techniques.
6. Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone.
7. Good command of English and Maths.
8. Willingness to travel daily within Crawley and Sussex/Surrey borders.
9. Flexible and punctual.

Role Expectations

• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Minimum of 4 years' paint repair experience, preferably with ATA/IMI/QAA certifications and working to PAS 125 standards.
• Ability to paint a minimum of two vertical panels and blend.
• Attention to detail.
• Customer-facing experience.
• Good time management skills.
• Carrying out paint and body repairs (SMART Repair) within agreed timescales.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

This is a salaried role with commission-based bonuses, with estimated on-target earnings between GBP45,000 and GBP65,000 per annum. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm.

Benefits include 29 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) and a Stakeholder Pension Scheme.
