Job summary

Dalkia UK is seeking a qualified Multi-Skilled Site Engineer with an electrical bias to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of schools in Oxford, Wokingham and Didcot, with Wokingham as base.

This mobile role requires working independently within a contract team to maintain electrical distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and building-services systems, while keeping sites safe and compliant.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Experience in electrical maintenance, fault-finding and minor installations across power, lighting and emergency-lighting.
• Understanding of health and safety and safe electrical practices.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to participate in call-out rota.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across multiple sites.
• Diagnose and rectify faults in electrical distribution, lighting and emergency-lighting systems.
• Complete electrical inspections, testing and safe working procedures within competence level.
• Identify defects and remedial works arising from maintenance activities.
• Maintain service records and updates using logbooks/CAFM systems.
• Participate in the 1-in-5 call-out rota and communicate with stakeholders.

Location: Mobile role covering schools across Oxford, Wokingham and Didcot, with Wokingham as the preferred base location.

Hours: [Insert standard working hours], with participation in a 1-in-5 call-out rota

Call-out Payment: £120 for each on-call week, with optional overtime opportunities

About The Role

We are looking for a qualified and adaptable Multi-Skilled Site Engineer with an electrical bias to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of schools in Oxford, Wokingham and Didcot.

Working independently as part of a wider contract team, you'll undertake electrical maintenance, fault-finding, repairs and minor remedial works. You'll also support the maintenance of wider building-services systems, helping to keep each site safe, compliant and fully operational.

You'll be supporting schools through the delivery of safe, compliant and well-maintained learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and minor electrical installation works across multiple sites
• Diagnose and rectify faults affecting electrical distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and associated building-services systems
• Complete electrical inspections, testing, isolations and safe working procedures within your level of competence and authorisation
• Identify defects, compliance concerns and remedial or chargeable works arising from maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate service records, test documentation and job updates using logbooks and CAFM systems
• Participate in the 1-in-5 call-out rota and communicate professionally with school representatives, colleagues and specialist service providers

What We're Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or an equivalent recognised electrical qualification
• Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
• Practical experience undertaking electrical maintenance, fault-finding, repairs and minor installations across power, lighting and emergency-lighting systems
• A good understanding of health and safety, safe electrical working practices and basic mechanical and wider building-services systems
• Strong communication and record-keeping skills, together with a full UK driving licence and the ability to participate in the call-out rota

An inspection and testing qualification, IPAF or PASMA certification, experience using CAFM or PPM systems, or previous experience within facilities management, commercial or educational environments would further support your application.

Experience or a recognised qualification in Solar PV systems would also be beneficial but is not essential.
