Job summary

ELITE Building Support Ltd seeks an experienced Mobile Handyman / MultiSkilled Fabric Maintenance Operative with an electrical qualification to join our facilities maintenance team.

The role involves travelling to commercial client sites across London and surrounding areas to carry out a wide range of planned and reactive building maintenance works, including minor electrical works where appropriate and within the individual's competence and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in handyman or fabric maintenance roles.
• Level 3 BS 7671 electrical qualification.
• Full UK driving licence; ideally no more than 3 penalty points.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and professional Mobile Handyman / MultiSkilled Fabric Maintenance Operative with an electrical qualification to join our growing facilities maintenance team. The role involves travelling to commercial client sites across London and surrounding areas to carry out a wide range of planned and reactive building maintenance works, including minor electrical works where appropriate and within the individual's competence and qualifications. We are looking for someone with strong all-round maintenance skills who is confident working independently, dealing professionally with clients and completing works to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• General building and fabric maintenance
• Planned and reactive maintenance works
• Minor electrical maintenance and repairs within competence and qualifications
• Basic electrical fault finding
• Replacement of electrical accessories where appropriate
• Carpentry and minor joinery repairs
• Door, lock, hinge, handle and door closer repairs
• Minor plumbing repairs
• Painting and decorating
• Making good walls and ceilings
• Minor flooring and tile repairs
• Silicone, sealant and mastic works
• Furniture repairs and assembly
• Installation of shelves, signage, notice boards and fixtures
• General fault finding and minor repairs
• Taking clear before-and-after photographs
• Completing job reports and providing updates to the office
• Following RAMS, site procedures and health & safety requirements
• Working professionally within occupied commercial buildings

Essential requirements

• Previous experience in handyman, fabric maintenance or multi-skilled maintenance work
• Good general building maintenance knowledge
• Electrical maintenance experience
• Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671, or equivalent relevant electrical qualification
• Good understanding of electrical safety
• Basic carpentry, plumbing and decorating skills
• Good practical and problem-solving ability
• Confident using hand and power tools
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Good communication skills; Ability to work independently
• Full UK driving licence; Ideally no more than 3 penalty points

Desirable experience

• Commercial property maintenance
• Facilities management
• Fire door awareness
• PASMA or IPAF
• Experience working within occupied offices and commercial buildings
• Additional electrical qualifications or testing experience would be advantageous

Pay, equipment & support

Self-employed/subcontractor: from £25.00 per hour, depending on skills, qualifications and experience. Employed: from £50,000 per annum. Paid overtime where applicable and agreed. Regular work and support from our office and management team.

Company van, tools and equipment, uniform/PPE and relevant training are available as appropriate to the engagement arrangement. Specific terms and entitlements will be confirmed before appointment.
