Mobile Mechanical Engineer – HVAC & Plant Maintenance

Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Mechanical Engineer to deliver PPM, reactive maintenance and minor projects across a diverse portfolio of corporate and commercial properties in the Surrey region.

The role focuses on maintaining mechanical building services to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation while delivering an excellent customer experience, with travel between client locations and on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical/Building Services/Plumbing & Heating.
• Completed recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years in commercial building maintenance environments.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, LTHW, chilled water, pumps, BMS interfaces and plant.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM per contractual requirements and SFG20 standards.
• Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical building services systems.
• Maintain HVAC, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, domestic water, chilled water and LTHW systems.
• Carry out maintenance on pumps, valves, pipework, expansion vessels, pressurisation units and associated plant.
• Undertake minor installation and project works as required.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with CBRE procedures.
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and emergency callouts.
• Investigate root causes of failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Provide technical advice and support to site teams and customers.
• Ensure accurate completion of electronic work orders through the CAFM system.
• Maintain excellent communication regarding ongoing works and service disruptions.
• Assist with lifecycle planning and asset condition reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, energy efficiency and equipment performance.
• Support the identification of critical spare parts requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Operate a company vehicle safely and professionally.
• Travel between client locations as required.
• Participate in an on-call rota where applicable.
