Job summary

Equans is seeking a Mobile Multi Skilled Engineer with a Mechanical Bias for a full-time role covering London and surrounding areas. The job focuses on maintaining building services, carrying out planned and reactive tasks, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Services qualification or NVQ Level 2 or higher.
• Experience as Mechanical Engineer in a facilities-management environment.
• Competent Person Mechanical and Pressure Systems qualification.
• Valid, clean UK driving licence.
• Experience in a demanding building-maintenance environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, plant and components.
• Able to fault-find, diagnose and rectify complex mechanical issues.
• Able to complete maintenance records and use CAFM systems effectively.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 maintenance and on-call rota.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• SC Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive tasks.
• Diagnose, fault-find and rectify mechanical defects and equipment failures.
• Maintain accurate plant logs, job records and CAFM updates.
• Identify parts and materials and estimate completion times.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Perform Legionella control and related compliance activities.
• Supervise subcontractors to ensure safe, quality work.
• Operate permit-to-work systems and plan plant isolations.
• Support helpdesk activities, quotations and client requests.
• Meet contract KPIs, SLAs and SHEQ requirements.
• Participate in 24/7 maintenance and on-call rota.
• Report accidents, near misses, and equipment issues promptly.
• Ensure PPE and tools are calibrated and maintained.
• Build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Promote safety culture and continuous improvement.
