Job summary

Field Lane is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to provide day-to-day maintenance across supported-living properties in Surrey. The role involves travel between occupied sites and requires professionalism, respect, and safeguarding awareness when working around residents.

You will perform basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and general repairs, manage requests with the Facilities Manager, and keep accurate records while maintaining safety and boundaries in residents' homes.

Qualifications

• Must have good all-round maintenance/handyman experience.
• Competent in basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and general repairs.
• Own vehicle for travelling between properties.
• Own tools suitable for general maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Ability to prioritise a mobile workload across multiple properties.
• Good communication and provide clear updates.
• Comfortable using a mobile app or work-order system.
• Good understanding of health & safety and safe working practices.
• Professional, patient and respectful in supported-living environments.
• Willing to undertake DBS check and pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day repairs and general maintenance across supported-living properties.
• Undertake basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating, minor repairs, fixtures and fittings.
• Attend maintenance requests and prioritise work.
• Respond to urgent maintenance and health & safety issues.
• Identify defects and determine in-house repair vs specialist contractor.
• Do not undertake specialist work unless trained and authorised.
• Keep Facilities Manager updated on progress.
• Report any additional defects or health & safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including photos.
• Liaise with Project Managers, support staff, contractors.
• Work safely within occupied properties and minimise disruption.
• Follow procedures relating to health & safety, safeguarding, confidentiality and lone working.
• Maintain professional boundaries when working around supported-living residents.
