Job summary

Total Care Matters Ltd. is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician / Handyman to perform planned and reactive maintenance across 10 East Midlands care homes. The role requires travel between sites, a full UK driving licence and a 40-hour week with a company van and tools provided.

You will handle painting, decorating, joinery, plumbing and garden work, ensuring safety and high standards. The ideal candidate is practical, independent and well organised, with good communication and a respectful

Qualifications

Experience in general property maintenance or a similar handyman role.
Confident with painting and decorating.
Competent in joinery/carpentry, including fire doors.
Able to undertake basic plumbing repairs.
Comfortable with gardening and external maintenance.
Well organised and able to plan across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned maintenance and repairs across 10 care homes.
Undertake painting and decorating, prep, filling, painting, touch-ups.
Carry out basic joinery and carpentry repairs: doors, handles, locks, skirting, glazing.
Perform basic plumbing repairs such as taps and leaks.
Carry out gardening and external maintenance, grass, hedges.
Identify issues and report to contractors.
Maintain records of works and travel between homes.
