Job summary
South Coast Nursing Homes is seeking a Maintenance Operative in Worthing with travel to other sites. You will deliver reactive maintenance and some project work across our care homes, reporting to the Head of Estates and Health & Safety. A full driving licence and good communication are essential.
Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, with an on-call rota; DBS check required. Benefits include a company van, pension, and career development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Practical hands-on maintenance experience in plumbing.
- Basic Electrics skills.
- Basic Carpentry skills.
- Experience of painting and decorating.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment with conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Proactive, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality reactive maintenance across multiple care and nursing homes.
- Carry out project work as required by Head of Estates and Health & Safety.
- Travel between sites using company van and manage time effectively.
- Utilise computers and mobile devices for reporting and record-keeping.
