Role Summary

As a Mobile Building Services Technician, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, focusing on mechanical systems and plumbing services. You will work across high-end residential developments, office buildings, and retail units, ensuring all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance across mechanical, plumbing, and general building systems.
2. Diagnose and repair faults on pumps, pipework, valves, expansion vessels, pressurisation units, water heaters, boilers, and sanitary systems.
3. Conduct hot and cold water system checks, including temperature monitoring and remedial works in line with Legionella (L8) regulations.
4. Carry out minor HVAC maintenance tasks (e.g., filter changes, belt replacements, basic AHU servicing).
5. Attend urgent breakdowns and emergency call-outs professionally and promptly.
6. Liaise with property managers, tenants, and clients on-site to ensure clear communication and minimal disruption.
7. Record all work via PDA/tablet or service sheets, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
8. Support other mobile engineers or subcontractors on large-scale works or cover duties.
9. Maintain van stock, tools, and materials, reporting shortages or usage.
10. Follow health and safety protocols, method statements, and company policies.
11. Participate in the on-call rota (typically 1 in 6 weeks) with additional pay.

Key Skills and Experience

1. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
2. Unvented Hot Water Certificate (G3) is desirable.
3. Strong fault-finding skills on mechanical and plumbing systems.
4. Familiarity with BMS interfaces, booster sets, calorifiers, expansion vessels, and pressure systems.
5. Basic knowledge of HVAC, fabric, and building services maintenance.
6. Experience in mobile roles across residential or mixed-use sites preferred.
7. Full UK driving license (essential).
8. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
9. Ability to work independently and in a team.
