Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Instrument Control Automation Technician based in Camberley/Esher to cover the home county’s pumping area. The role involves mobile work at sewage pumping stations and boreholes, with focus on safety, efficiency, and asset performance.

Expect on-site coordination, SCADA/PLC work, and training support for apprentices. The ideal candidate will have HNC/NVQ3 in instrumentation, BS7671 18th Edition, experience with relay logic, and a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC level or NVQ level 3 in instrumentation, control and automation.
• 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification preferred.
• Strong understanding of operational plant and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair water production assets including level instrumentation, flow meters and turbidity monitors.
• Operate SCADA systems and PLCs, and manage process control networks.
• Liaise with and supervise contractors and suppliers as required.
• Provide specialist technical advice and training support for technical apprentices.
