Job summary

Tesco Stores Limited is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician to cover Birmingham, Dudley and Wolverhampton areas. You will Troubleshoot, repair and optimise commercial HVAC systems across Tesco sites, ensuring safety, energy efficiency and reliability.

The role requires a proactive, hands-on approach and comfort with mobile technology and reporting. Applicants should hold relevant City & Guilds certifications and gas safety qualifications, with a full driving licence and a strong safety

Qualifications

• Hard HVAC/mechanical technical qualifications and regulatory certifications relevant to commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience with mobile maintenance work across multiple sites within the UK is desirable.
• Strong safety culture and ability to follow complex regulatory requirements and site standards.
• Competence with using mobile devices and standard business systems for work order reporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and functional environments across Tesco sites.
• Follow planned work schedules to maximise first time fixes and productivity.
• Deliver high-quality work across the estate with year-on-year improvements.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs, optimising system performance.
• Own tasks locally through to completion and inform stakeholders as required.
• Utilise mobile devices (phone/tablet) to update workload and drive best practices.
• Use business systems to support asset lifecycle management and KPI reporting.
• Support KPI delivery through practical application of skills and systems.

Job description

As an HVAC Maintenance Technician at Tesco, covering ourBirmingham, Dudley and Wolverhampton areas, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our environments comfortable, safe, and fully operational for both customers and colleagues. Your expertise in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems will ensure our stores remain energy-efficient and compliant with safety standards.

You’ll be part of a skilled maintenance team, responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a wide range of HVAC systems and equipment. From diagnosing faults to carrying out repairs and optimising system performance, your work will help ensure a seamless shopping experience for thousands of customers every day.
