Job summary

NRG Riverside, a depot-based fleet specialist, is seeking an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to service and repair a range of municipal vehicles, including refuse trucks, at our Manchester depot.

You will undertake inspections, diagnose breakdowns, and perform repairs for trusted OEMs, with training provided to support skill development and progression within the business.

Qualifications

• NVQ or City & Guilds in HGV maintenance is preferred.
• Experience with municipal vehicles is advantageous.
• HGV licence (Class 1 or 2) preferred.
• Experience with auxiliary equipment is advantageous.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine inspection and repair of internal and external customers' HGVs within the depot workshop.
• Work on HGVs from brands such as Mercedes, DAF, Isuzu, Terberg.
• Perform MOT inspections, repairs, and prepare vehicles for MOT tests.
• Attend breakdowns, diagnose issues, and complete repairs to a high standard.
• Complete all compliance paperwork related to repair and maintenance of fleet.

What candidate are we looking for?

• Experience from within a HGV Technician/ HGV Engineer/ HGV Mechanic/ Mobile HGV Technician role/ Mobile HGV Technician/ Depot Based Mobile HGV Engineer (essential)
• Experience working with municipal vehicles is advantageous.
• HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent. This is preferred but time-served experience will also be considered.
• Previous experience working with auxiliary equipment advantageous
• Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous
• Class 1 or Class 2 licence preferred
• Excellent customer service and a great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative

What will be your duties?

• As the HGV Technician you will undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customers vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
• Working on HGVs, and equipment from manufacturers including Mercedes, Dennis Eagle, DAF, Isuzu and Terberg
• Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test
• Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
• Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
