Job summary

NRG Riverside is hiring an experienced HGV Technician for our Leeds depot. You will service and repair a wide range of municipal vehicles, including refuse trucks, in a busy workshop environment. Training will be provided to support your growth with our specialist assets.

The role requires HGV technical qualifications, with a Class 2 licence preferred, and a strong safety mindset. In return, we offer a depot bonus up to £3,000 and a generous leave and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in HGV Technician/Mechanic role.
• HGV technical qualification NVQ or City & Guilds equivalent.
• Class 2 licence preferred.
• Experience in Waste/Recycling industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine inspection and repair of client vehicles in the NRG workshop estate.
• Carry out commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repairs and prep for MOT test.
• Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults and perform repairs to a high standard.
• Complete all compliance paperwork for maintenance of the rental fleet.

In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including refuse trucks. What candidate are we looking for?

o Experience from within a HGV Technician/ Mechanic role

o Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be great, but not essential

o Experience working on Municipal / Refuse Vehicles, Hook-loaders, Skip Vehicles etc is a plus.

o Vehicle / Trailer Repairs, Safety Inspections, Oil & Filter Services and wheel etc

o HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent.

o Class 2 licence preferred.

o Experience of working in a similar role within the HGV industry.

o Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative.

o Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.

What will be your duties?

o Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test

o Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard

o Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
