Octane Recruitment Limited is sourcing a Mobile HGV Technician/Mechanic for the Birmingham area. The role covers Oldbury and surrounding areas, with a Monday–Friday, 8–5 pattern and no weekend shifts.

The salary is competitive around £40,000 DOE, plus overtime, a £1,500 joining bonus, and clear progression opportunities toward Master Technician. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of commercial vehicles, working with brands like Mercedes, Iveco, and Ford, and preparing vehicles

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills.
• Proactive and detail-focused approach.
• Passion for vehicle maintenance and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of commercial vehicles.
• Work on leading manufacturers including Mercedes, Iveco, and Ford.
• Ensure vehicles meet high safety and quality standards.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
• Carry out mobile maintenance and repair activities.
• Support workshop operations when required.

The Role

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of commercial vehicles

• Work closely with an experienced and supportive team

What We’re Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working on HGVs
• Full Class 2 UK, Irish, or EU Manual Driving Licence with no more than 6 points
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills
• A proactive and detail-focused approach
• Passion for vehicle maintenance and customer service

£1500 sign on bonus!!

* £750 payable in the first month’s pay and £750 payable following successful completion of the 90-day probation period. Subject to tax, National Insurance deductions, and eligibility criteria. Applicants must be able to pass a security check involving financial probity and basic criminality.
