Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is recruiting for an experienced Mobile HGV Technician covering East London, Purfleet and surrounding areas. The role is field-based, with occasional workshop time, diagnosing, servicing and repairing commercial vehicles.

The position offers a £45,000 basic salary plus a £1,500 joining bonus and overtime. You will join a reputable fleet business and benefit from a structured 5-stage training programme leading to Master Technician.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Must have Full UK Class 1 HGV driving licence.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Able to pass employment vetting, including checks.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Carry out inspections, maintenance and fault finding to manufacturer standards.
• Prepare commercial vehicles for MOT testing.
• Ensure all vehicles comply with safety and legal requirements.
• Work on a fleet including Mercedes-Benz, Iveco and Ford commercial vehicles.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Provide excellent customer service whilst working independently in the field.

Mobile HGV Technician Role

• Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.

Mobile HGV Technician Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent City & Guilds / recognised apprenticeship).
• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician.
  • Must havea Full UK Class 1 HGVdriving licence.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Able to pass employment vetting, including financial and criminal record checks.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
