Job summary

Amey is building a brand-new Mobile Team supporting the Ministry of Justice—and this is your chance to join from day one. This is a permanent, full-time role: 39 hours per week (08:00–17:00) with 1 in 4 weekends (15% shift allowance), salary £35,504–£44,830 plus van and fuel card.

As a Gas Engineer or Plumber, you will work across a small regional patch (approx. 8 sites) carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems, ensuring safety, compliance and career progression.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe registration with commercial qualifications (CODNCO1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1/A).
• Experience maintaining commercial gas systems.
• NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems.
• Servicing and inspecting appliances, including combustion analysis & testing.
• Working on boilers, heaters, water systems and ventilation.
• Supporting upgrades, installations and minor works.
• Ensuring safe, compliant working in line with industry and site standards.

What we’re looking for

• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
• NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

Additional qualifications or experience in regulated environments are a bonus—but not essential.
