Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Resident Forklift Engineer (based over 2 sites) to service and repair a broad range of forklift trucks between Wakefield and Thorne, living within a commutable distance of Doncaster/Leeds.

The role involves LOLER inspections, safety checks, and responding to breakdowns across two depots. The ideal candidate has City & Guilds/NVQ, diesel engine expertise, and full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Forklift Engineer or Material Handling Mechanic.
• Proven diesel engine experience.
• Strong electrical, hydraulic and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and manage workload.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repair on forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
• Carry out LOLER inspections and safety checks.
• Complete service reports and job sheets.
• Coordinate with parts to source and install correct components.
• Respond to breakdowns to minimise customer downtime.
