Job summary

Interaction Technical is recruiting a Mobile Forklift Engineer to service, repair, and maintain forklift trucks and material handling equipment across customer sites in the local area. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.

You will diagnose faults, perform maintenance, handle breakdowns, and complete detailed service reports while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to safety standards. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in forklift, plant, or material handling industries.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience servicing mobile equipment or machinery.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing faults, servicing, and repairing forklift trucks and related equipment.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Attending breakdowns and providing effective fault-finding solutions.
• Completing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs.
• Conducting safety inspections and ensuring compliance.
• Accurately completing service reports and documentation.
• Delivering excellent customer service while representing the company professionally.
• Participating in the paid on-call rota as required.

Location: Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire

Salary: £31,000-£38,000+ (DOE) + Overtime (1.33x) + On-Call Allowance

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

The Role

As a Mobile Forklift Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of forklift trucks and material handling equipment at customer sites throughout the local area.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnosing faults, servicing, and repairing forklift trucks and associated equipment
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Attending breakdowns and providing effective fault-finding solutions
• Completing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs
• Conducting safety inspections and ensuring equipment remains compliant
• Accurately completing service reports and documentation
• Delivering excellent customer service while representing the company professionally
• Participating in the paid on-call rota as required

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working within the forklift, plant, agricultural, HGV, automotive, or material handling industries (essential)
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills
• Experience servicing and repairing mobile equipment or machinery
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
• NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent engineering qualification (advantageous)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
