Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Mobile Food Service Assistant to provide cover across sites in Swindon. The role supports busy catering operations, serving meals, and maintaining hygiene standards while working across several locations.

It is a part-time, term-time role (39 weeks) with a 20-hour week, offering flexible hours and opportunities for training and development. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Positive, reliable attitude and good reliability.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication with pupils, staff and colleagues.
• Good organisation and attention to detail in a busy catering environment.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and stay calm while delivering service.
• Catering or food service experience is helpful but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Set up the dining area ready for service.
• Serve meals to pupils in a friendly and professional manner.
• Receive and prepare delivered meals for service.
• Clear down and clean the kitchen and dining areas after lunch.
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic working areas.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
• Support stock storage and deliveries where required.
• Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.
• Ensure the daily catering service runs smoothly while working independently.

About the Role

As a Mobile Food Service Assistant, you'll provide cover across multiple sites, supporting the day-to-day running of busy catering operations. From preparing and serving food to maintaining clean and safe kitchen environments, you'll play an important role in ensuring each location runs smoothly.

You'll be responsible for setting up the service, serving meals to pupils, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen and dining area, and clearing down after service. You'll work independently while maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety and customer service.

What You’ll Do

Additional Information

Term Time Only – Equated Pay
This role works 39 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
