Job summary

Great Places Housing Association in Blackpool is seeking a Mobile Caretaker to help manage four Independent Living & Wellbeing schemes. You will travel between sites using a company vehicle, maintaining clean, safe communal areas and carrying out health and safety checks.

You will respond to queries, support residents, and contribute to the smooth running of communities with a professional, customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Experience in a similar Caretaker role.
• Competent in IT and using PDAs.
• Ability to work as part of a team or on your own.
• Ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines.
• Demonstrate a positive can do attitude.
• A flexible approach to the working day.
• You are as comfortable working on your own as you are as part of a team.
• Site Health and Safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety and repair to estates, blocks and schemes.
• Hoovering, sweeping, mopping, cleaning of communal areas and external spaces.
• Carry out minor repairs in communal areas (bulbs, door handles, weeds, jet washing, painting, graffiti removal).
• Carry out regular litter picking of external areas to keep schemes clean and safe.
• Health & Safety checks to ensure safe environments and report issues to Compliance.
• Undertake routine health and safety inspections per policy.
• Check communal lighting, fire safety equipment, exits, signage and housekeeping standards.
• Identify and report hazards, risks, accidents and safeguarding concerns.
• Maintain records of inspections and actions taken.
