Job summary

Lloyds British is seeking a Crane Inspection Engineer to cover Wolverhampton and the surrounding area. You will perform statutory inspections on cranes, hoists and lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with LOLER and PUWER and providing clear technical guidance to customers.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, fault-finding skills and a safety-first mindset. You will work independently and as part of the Lloyds British team, contributing to a high-quality service across the region.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND, City & Guilds or equivalent relevant engineering qualification.
• Relevant industry experience with cranes, hoists and lifting equipment.
• Strong technical knowledge of lifting equipment and lifting machines.
• Good understanding of LOLER and PUWER requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out statutory inspections and thorough examinations of cranes, hoists and lifting equipment.
• Assessing equipment against LOLER, PUWER and industry standards.
• Identifying defects, deterioration and safety concerns.
• Producing accurate inspection reports and certification.
• Advising customers on remedial actions and next steps after inspections.
• Building strong relationships with customers.
• Managing workload across Wolverhampton and surrounding area.
• Maintaining high health, safety and technical compliance.
