Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a Mobile Combustion Engineer to join our Midlands team on a permanent basis. The role covers Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas, with a 40-hour week and a company vehicle included.
You will service and maintain commercial boilers and gas appliances across multiple sites, complete PPM and breakdown work, keep CAFM records up to date and support on-call duties as required. A recognised gas safety qualification is essential.
Equans is looking for a Mobile Combustion Engineer to join our team working across the Midlands on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.
The role is working on our Midlands Mobile contract. The majority of the work will be based in the West Midlands covering Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent but it will also cover other parts of the Midlands.
Working on the following equipment but not limited to; Commercial Boilers, Associated Gas Equipment, Gas Fire Radiant Heaters, Water Heaters, Control valves, D omestic Boilers
Cover numerous sites that fall within the contract such as Stoke Schools and Guide Dogs
Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator
Complete supplementary documentation / E-Forms relating to the maintenance task as dictated by your line manager
Update customers CAFM system in real time with start/wait/stop completion times and provide full description of works undertaken, advising of any follow-on works required
Ensure reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. Identify and record all plant failures using quotation forms and to line manager. This is to be indicated and recorded within the CAFM system
Take part in the on call rota

A recognised industry qualification will be required, and previous experience is essential
CCN1: Core Domestic Gas Safety (mandatory for domestic work)
COCN1: Core Commercial Gas Safety (mandatory for commercial work)
CPA1: Combustion Performance Analysis (often bundled with core) [1,2]
Domestic (Natural Gas): CENWAT (boilers)
Commercial/Industrial: Includes CODNCO1 (domestic to commercial switch)
CIGA1/CDGA1: (commercial appliances), and pipework certifications like ICPN1
BMP1: Gas boosters Medium pressure
CCP1: Commission of commercial plant
C&G Level 3 Plumbing
Trade qualified Combustion Engineer with appropriate post apprenticeship experience desirable
Commercial & Domestic Boiler experience
Must have a full drivers’ licence
This role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists check therefore ability to pass is essential.
