Job summary

The Education Authority in Northern Ireland is seeking a Catering Assistant to support daily operation of the school catering unit under the supervision of the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor. You will help ensure a hygienic, efficient service and promote customer satisfaction within the unit, contributing to meals for pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks to pupils and staff.
• Assisting with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintaining contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing dining area: setting tables, cutlery and serving points.
• Completing kitchen and dining room duties including washing up and cleaning.
