Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a mobile catering manager to deliver high-quality catering for schools and hospitality functions across multiple sites in the East of the region. The role requires Catering Manager or supervisory experience and cooking skills.

The post is 25 hours per week for 38 weeks per year, fixed term up to 18 months, with times to be discussed at interview. You will be supported by your line manager and operate within council processes and health and safety

Qualifications

• Catering Manager or supervisory experience
• Cooking skills/experience
• Ability to manage kitchen operations

Responsibilities

• Provide Early Years and School Meals to children and young people
• Manage the kitchen budget
• Responsible for H.A.S.A.W. and CookSafe
• Organise the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Be able to approach problem management with ease
• Deal with any complaints
• Follow Council processes and procedures
• Use of technology
• Be aware of current food trends and customer awareness
