Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a mobile catering manager to deliver high-quality catering for schools and hospitality functions across multiple sites in the East of the region. The role requires Catering Manager or supervisory experience and cooking skills.

The post is 25 hours per week for 38 weeks per year, fixed term up to 18 months, with times to be discussed at interview. You will be supported by your line manager and operate within council processes and health and safety

Dumfries and Galloway Council are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic mobile catering manager to deliver high-quality catering services for schools and hospitality functions across multiple sites in the East of Dumfries and Galloway. You will be supported by your line manager and given direction/instruction as and when required.

You must have Catering Manager or supervisory experience as well as cooking skills / experience

Part of your duties within this role will include the following:

• Providing Early Years and School Meals to children and young people Managing the kitchen budget
• Responsible for H.A.S.A.W. and CookSafe
• Organising the day-to-day running of the kitchen

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
