Job summary

Vertas Group's Catering Team is recruiting a mobile Assistant Cook to support kitchen operations across several sites, rather than one fixed kitchen. The role involves preparing, cooking and serving nutritious meals, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting with stock, ordering and administration.

It is a 20-hour week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–14:00, across 39 weeks per year. Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, plus the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Assist with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Support with stock control and ordering.
• Deliver excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.
• Assist with kitchen administration and record keeping.
• Cover multiple sites as required.
• Assist with washing up and general kitchen duties.

Fit depends on a full UK driving licence and own vehicle, plus the right to work in the UK.
