Job summary

EQUANS is seeking a Mobile A/C Engineer to support a range of critical sites across the South of England. The role is field-based, requiring hands-on fault-finding, installation, and commissioning of air conditioning systems.

You will maintain F-Gas records and work closely with contract managers to deliver first-class service. The ideal candidate has NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, a recognised apprenticeship, and a current F-Gas Cat 1 qualification.

Qualifications

• ,Must have recognised apprenticeship/qualifications in A/C & Refrigeration.
• NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration is required.
• C&G 2079-11 F-Gas Cat 1 qualification (ODS regulations) is required.

Responsibilities

• Fault-finding and repair of air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, chiller plants, and associated controls.
• Maintain and update F-Gas logbooks with refrigerant use and leak testing.
• Carry out installation, pressure testing, vacuum dehydration, and commissioning of A/C systems.
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractor works on site.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and complete documentation.
• Complete real-time job updates using CAFM systems via PDA/tablet.
• Diagnose system defects, prepare quotations, liaise with contract managers and clients.
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota for emergencies.
• Maintain high standards of presentation and communication on client sites.

EQUANS is seeking a Mobile A/C Engineer to join our MTS South team, supporting a variety of critical sites across the South of England. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in maintaining essential temperature control systems, minimising downtime, and delivering a first-class service to our clients. Key Responsibilities

• Fault-finding and repair of air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, chiller plants, and associated controls
• Maintain and update F-Gas logbooks, ensuring accurate records of refrigerant use and leak testing
• Carry out installation, pressure testing, vacuum dehydration, and commissioning of A/C systems
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractor works on site
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including completion of all required documentation
• Complete real-time job updates using CAFM systems via PDA/tablet
• Diagnose system defects, prepare quotations, and liaise with contract managers and clients
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota to provide emergency support when needed
• Work flexibly and professionally, maintaining a high standard of presentation and communication on client sites

What We're Looking For

• Recognised apprenticeship (EITB, CITB) or equivalent technical qualifications
• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• C&G 2079-11 F-Gas Category 1 qualification (ODS regulations)
• Experience working with chillers, cold rooms, VRV/VRF systems, AHUs, cooling towers, and BMS systems
• Comfortable reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics
• L8 Awareness (Legionella)
• Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH/IOSH) is advantageous
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Full UK driving licence required
