Job summary

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a well-regarded secondary school in Bridgend to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their MLD base from September 2026. This full-time role supports learners with additional learning needs across dedicated MLD classes within year groups.

You will work under the direction of the class teacher and ALNCo to deliver targeted interventions, foster an inclusive learning environment and support literacy, numeracy and life-skills development.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with additional learning needs.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in MLD classes under direction of teacher and ALNCo.
• Deliver targeted interventions to access curriculum.
• Foster inclusive learning environment tailored to individual needs.
• Support pupils with communication, literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
• Assist with classroom management and pupil engagement.
• Contribute to progress tracking and personalised learning plans.
