Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking dedicated MLD Teaching Assistants to join our team across Sheffield's specialist provisions. You will support pupils with moderate learning difficulties to access a differentiated curriculum.

You will deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions, support literacy, numeracy and communication, and work with teachers to tailor resources. This temporary role offers term-time hours with holiday pay. DBS Update Service required; two references preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent relevant experience).
• Experience supporting children with MLD, SEMH, or additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted in-class support to pupils with MLD, differentiating the curriculum.
• Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions to boost literacy, numeracy, and communication.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to build confidence, independence and social interaction.
• Collaborate with class teachers to adapt resources for individual learning styles.
• Support pupils with speech & language delays, dyslexia, or mild coordination difficulties.
• Contribute to EHCP reviews and progress tracking with SENCO and team.
