Job summary

Mitie in London is offering an apprenticeship for a Fire and Security Systems Technician. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on access control, CCTV, intruder alarms and fire alarms, gaining hands-on experience on real systems.

Training is delivered by Skills for Security, with block release at Dagenham or Watford centres, one week every eight weeks. You’ll complete a Level 3 apprenticeship and build a future in the fire and security industry.

Qualifications

• 18+ due to company insurance requirements
• Have a full UK driving license, or be actively working towards getting one and live locally
• Electrical background desirable
• Comfortable working at height, due to the nature of the role
• Interest in learning more about the wider fire and security industry
• Excellent customer service and teamworking skills

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and fault-find on Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intruder Alarms and Fire Alarms alongside experienced engineers
• Learn to troubleshoot and diagnose faults on live fire and security systems
• Gain hands-on experience with real systems and documentation
• Attend training sessions and build evidence to support your apprenticeship

Job Description

Training to be Provided

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at our Dagenham or Watford centre (depending on which is closer to you), for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.
