Job summary
Leonardo UK in Yeovil seeks experienced Software Engineers – Mission Management Systems to drive end-to-end development of high-integrity aircraft software during a critical pivot. You will evolve Tactical Mission Management Systems, maintaining legacy platforms while architecting software for uncrewed and autonomous capabilities, in a hybrid working environment.
You'll work in the Helicopter division, own complex mission-system software components, and collaborate with customers and suppliers
Qualifications
- Broad experience in real-time, high-integrity embedded software.
- Strong proficiency in Ada95, C/C++, UML modelling and DOORS.
- Understanding of RTOS and multi-tasking environments.
Responsibilities
- Generate robust software models and designs for legacy and new mission computers.
- Champion open architecture to enable portability across autonomous fleets.
- Develop deterministic, real-time components with memory management.
- Capture requirements and ensure DO-178C traceability across programs.
- Create test harnesses and perform hardware-in-the-loop integration.
- Navigate certification needs and collaborate with customers and suppliers.
