Job summary

Leonardo UK in Yeovil seeks a Software Engineer for Mission Management Systems to drive end-to-end development of high-integrity aircraft software. You will evolve Tactical Mission Management Systems to support both legacy manned platforms and future autonomous missions.

You will work across real-time embedded software, open architectures, and regulatory navigation, delivering robust, modular solutions with DO-178C compliance in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in the full software development lifecycle for real-time, high-integrity embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Ada95, C or C++ and strong UML modelling.
• Experience with DOORS for requirements management; familiarity with RTOS and Linux/UNIX.

Responsibilities

• Dual-Platform Architecture: develop robust software models and designs for legacy and new unmanned mission computers.
• Open Architecture Integration: apply FACE/MOSA to enable portability across autonomous fleets.
• High-Integrity Implementation: build deterministic real-time components with memory-aware coding.
