Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking System Performance Engineers to join a systems design team on a missile programme for the UK defence sector. You will apply advanced modelling to predict and analyse performance in response to evolving threats across air, land and sea domains.

You will work with Matlab and Simulink to build and validate models, assess impacts of design changes, and generate performance evidence for product reviews and customer acceptance.

Qualifications

• Experience using mathematical models to assess performance of dynamic systems.
• Ability to analyse how design changes impact performance and safety envelopes.
• Experience presenting complex data clearly to expert and non-expert audiences.
• Exposure to aerodynamics, propulsion, guidance and control concepts.
• Systems engineering experience across lifecycle phases (requirements, architecture, verification, certification).

Responsibilities

• Assess system performance with complex models (e.g., 6-DoF).
• Understand how the wider system affects performance and change impacts.
• Assess changes to algorithms, subsystems or properties on performance envelopes.
• Contribute across lifecycle phases from concept to demonstration.
• Inform requirements at system and subsystem levels.
• Support verification planning and evidence generation for customers.
• Provide in-service support and product evolution assessments.
• Create missile/weapon performance data for launch platforms via large-scale modelling.
