The Division of Surgery is advertising for an MIS Support Officer role. This B5 post supports the procurement function within the Division, but also supports the Genesis Managed Inventory System across the trust.

Main duties of the job

The post is based at the BRI but may involve working across the sites held in UHBW, St Michaels Hospital, The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, South Bristol Community Hospital and Weston General. The postholder supports the operation and maintenance of the Genesis system and provides support and training to users. The postholder also works with the Surgery procurement assistant group to ensure all the divisions clinical services are supported and is involved in monitoring and delivering the savings plan.

Person specification
Knowledge and Experience
  • The post holder will need experience of using the purchasing and MIS systems in use across the theatre/endoscopy/cath labs/ITU and radiology departments here at UHBW
  • The post holder will need understanding of the needs of the departments concerned, to be able to support the day to day MIS and procurement support needs of the trust, with the support of the MIS manager who will be largely spending time on the new systems deployment.
Skills and Abilities
  • The post holder needs fair keyboard skills and good understanding of EROS and PRM as used in the MIS supported clinical areas
  • The post holder needs to have good communication skills with all levels within the organisation, from B2/3 housekeeping and procurement assistants to the nursing teams and senior teams within the trust
