Job summary

The Falkirk Mining Company offers a student internship (Intern Trainee) designed for those pursuing an associate or technical degree. The program trains you to operate a boom truck, welding truck, forklift and other support equipment, with 3-month or 8-month options running May 2027 through Aug 2027 or Dec 2027.

Duties include troubleshooting, maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; preventative maintenance on draglines and shovels; reading blueprints and fabricating parts;

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited welding or mechanical maintenance program and in good academic standing.
• Has completed a portion of college in the related field and intents on completing the degree.
• Valid driver's license.
• Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Able to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting, routine maintenance and repairs of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on draglines, coal shovels and facilities.
• Read and understand blueprints with the ability to assemble and fabricate parts from them.
• Perform duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
