Job summary

The Falkirk Mining Company offers an internship program for electrical trainees from May 2027. Positions can be 3 months or 15 months (May 2027–Aug 2027 or Aug 2028). You will repair electrical mining equipment, assist inspections, and work with various voltage systems.

Willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather and rotating shifts is required. Starting pay is $33.20 per hour, with benefits including health/dental/vision insurance, 401K matching, PTO, holidays, and housing stipend.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited electrical program and in good academic standing.
• Completed a portion of college in the associated field and intending to complete the degree.
• Applicants need to have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Able to work rotating shifts.

Job Description:

Duties / Tasks:

• Repair electrical mining equipment and facilities.
• Assist with electrical inspections on mine equipment.
• Work with different voltage electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot motor control circuits, PLC, and digital drive control systems.
• Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Required Enrolled in accredited electrical program and in good academic standing.
• Completed a portion of college in the associated field of study intents on completing the degree.

NOTE: This position requires working rotating shifts. The role involves approximately 20% indoor work and 80% outdoor work. Employees must be able to work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to steel-toe boots, safety glasses, a hard hat, face shield, and respirator. Must also successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and the applicable Job Function Test (JFT).
