Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Community Relations Officer for mining projects in the UK. The role focuses on building trust with communities, communicating project impacts, and supporting social license to operate through active stakeholder engagement.

You will travel to site locations, run consultations, report on social impact, and help develop community development programs. A strong background in social development and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, or social development, ideally in mining or resources.
• Proven ability to manage sensitive stakeholder relationships and navigate complex social dynamics.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Willingness to undertake frequent travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies aligned with project objectives and social license to operate.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with local community leaders, government officials, and civil society organizations.
• Facilitate community consultations, information sessions, and feedback mechanisms.
• Identify and address community concerns, grievances, and needs related to mining operations.
• Contribute to the development and management of community development programs and initiatives.
• Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities, stakeholder feedback, and social impact assessments.
