Job summary

The Bishop Wand Church of England School is seeking a casual minibus driver to transport students on a zero hours basis as required. You will drive the school minibus safely, look after passenger welfare, and complete daily and weekly vehicle checks with accurate records.

Flexibility is essential as shifts are not fixed. Applicants must hold a D1 unrestricted, PSV or D1 restricted licence, and a Full Enhanced DBS check; eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive the school minibus safely and in line with road traffic regulations
• Ensure the safety, comfort and wellbeing of all passengers
• Carry out daily and weekly vehicle safety checks
• Report vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents promptly
• Help keep school vehicles clean and roadworthy
• Keep accurate records of vehicle use and checks
• Plan alternative routes and communicate transport changes
• Support staff with student behaviour management where required
• Follow school policies, health and safety procedures and safeguarding requirements
• Complete mandatory training, including safeguarding, and any further training the school requires
