Job summary

Recruitment South East Ltd is seeking a responsible Part Time Minibus Driver to provide safe transport for pupils during term time. The role involves morning and afternoon duties, with a total of 34 school weeks per year, and a pro-rata annual leave arrangement.

The successful candidate will perform pre-journey safety checks, supervise pupil conduct, and use the transport app to log student movements. A clean UK licence with D1 entitlements is required, alongside reliability and professionalism.

• Report any vehicle defects or concerns promptly.
• Follow all relevant minibus and transport procedures.
• Ensure all journeys are carried out in accordance with current Health & Safety and safeguarding requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding pupils and other sensitive information.

Part Time Minibus Driver

Job Title: Minibus Driver

Reports to: Bursar / Senior Management

Contract: Term-Time Only

Hours: Monday-Friday

The Role

Our client is looking for a responsible, friendly and reliable Minibus Driver to provide a professional and safe transport service for pupils.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily transportation of pupils to and from school, ensuring their safety and wellbeing throughout each journey.

Hours of Work

Monday-Friday: 6:30am-8:30am and 3:55pm-6:00pm

Tuesday afternoon: 4:55pm-7:00pm

34 weeks per year, term time only

Annual leave is taken during school holiday periods.

Job share will be considered, with days to be agreed.

Salary

£13,695 per annum, including 5.6 weeks' pro-rata holiday pay, based on an hourly rate of £16.54.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Requirements

• Current clean UK driving licence with D1 or D entitlement.
• Aged 21 or over.
• Full UK driving licence held for at least two years.
• Previous minibus driving experience is desirable.
• MiDAS training or equivalent is desirable; training can be provided where required.
• New drivers will be required to complete vehicle familiarisation and an assessment drive.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Friendly and approachable manner.
• Comfortable working with children and young people.

Safeguarding

The successful applicant must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

An Enhanced DBS check will be required, along with appropriate safeguarding checks, checks with previous employers and a checkable work history.
