Job summary

Hydesville Tower School in Walsall invites applications for a Minibus Driver. This permanent, term-time role offers 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with start in November 2026. You will transport students safely to and from school and assist with safeguarding and student wellbeing.

We value reliability, clear communication and a courteous approach with families and staff. A full UK driving licence, D1 PCV entitlement and Driver CPC are required, with CPC kept up to date.

Qualifications

• Hold a full UK driving licence (minimum 24 months).
• D1 PCV entitlement and valid Driver CPC.
• Experience driving passenger-carrying vehicles safely and professionally.
• Confident communicator with students, parents and colleagues.
• Flexible, reliable and able to adapt to changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and other approved locations.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Ensure passenger safety and compliance with transport regulations.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report defects or hazards promptly.
• Maintain records and comply with driver hours and CPC requirements.
• Support safeguarding by reporting concerns appropriately.

Role Purpose

We're looking for a Minibus Driver to join our team, providing safe and professional transport for our students. This is more than just a driving role. You'll be a friendly face each day, helping students travel to and from school safely while building positive relationships with families and colleagues.

As a Minibus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently, ensuring every journey is delivered with the highest standards of care, professionalism and customer service.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting students' attendance, wellbeing and access to education, while representing the school positively within the local community.

What you will be doing

• Safely transport students to and from school and other approved locations.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Ensure passenger safety and compliance with all transport and road safety regulations.
• Carry out vehicle checks and promptly report any defects, hazards or concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with driver hours, CPC and transport regulations.
• Support the school's safeguarding culture by reporting any concerns appropriately.
