Job summary

WSP is seeking a senior professional to lead mine waste and tailings projects within the UK & Ireland Mine Waste team. The role combines technical leadership, project direction, business development, and client liaison across domestic and international projects.

You will work with a multidisciplinary group of engineers and scientists, mentoring colleagues and delivering designs from concept through to closure, while traveling to client sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in mine waste and tailings.
• Degree in civil, geotechnical or engineering geology.
• Chartered professional with relevant body.
• Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally.
• Proven track record delivering large, multi-disciplinary projects on-time and on-budget.
• Commitment to internal and external client service.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direction for mine waste projects from concept to detail design and closure.
• Lead, mentor and coach a team of engineers and scientists within the Mine Waste group.
• Manage time, budget and quality control across multiple projects.
• Engage with clients for technical input, proposals and reporting.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Support business development and client relationship management.
